Re: What Camera do you use Kayaking?
I use an Olympus TG-310. While I didn't buy it to take pictures underwater, I did try it out and it survived. It's nice to have a camera out and not have to worry about it getting wet or having to open a dry bag all the time. Bought a floating wrist strap from Wal-Mart to be safe.

Re: Sabile Knot -Braid to Leader - Anyone Using It?
Very interesting knot. Will have to try it. I use a bimini twist to an albright for my tarpon rigs.

The chase continues
Hit Bradenton Beach yesterday with a buddy for some tarpon. After a little bit a group of tarpon finally show up but they are being harassed by a few boats leap frogging each other to get a shot. We decide to play it safe and hit the flats since the boat traffic picked up quite a bit. Once on the fl...

Re: Two hands or one hand?
Two hands pretty much all of the time. If I'm fishing the rivers with light tackle I might use one hand. But I feel I have more control and accuracy using two.

Re: Shortening a rod - change action?
That's good to hear. I hate how it catches my shirt and really didn't want to start into rod builing right now. Although it is on my to do list.

Shortening a rod - change action?
I was reading the F.A.Q section and read the article on shortening the butt of a rod. I have a rod I would like to do this to but was wondering if this will change the action of the rod any?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: 2010 - 2011 PFTS - a recap and ??? about the next series
For those that are new to areas, I know it can be daunting. Not only are you fishing an unknown area but you are also using a lure that may not be in your confidence range. I have fished north of the Courtney Campbell 5 times in my life. When I am up there, I am lost and rely completly on others (t...

Re: Best day of bass fishing ever w/pics
Hey that's my brother in laws old kayak. I recognize the team reaper logo we designed it. Hope it treats u well. Nice fish. My friend really likes it. I took it for a paddle and have to say I like it a lot better than my Scrambler. I don't have to paddle all the time just to keep moving. That is pr...

Re: Best day of bass fishing ever w/pics
Bass tend to slow down in the winter and therefore won’t spend much energy chasing food. Your presentation needs to slow down to allow the fish time to bite. Rubber worms and jigs fished around structure or a spinner bait slowly reeled in works well. Bass become more active when the water warms up a...

Best day of bass fishing ever w/pics
Went to the Hillsborough River with my dad, uncle, and a good friend this morning. I really didn't expect too much with the water being colder but I have never been more wrong in my life. We put in at 7am and was out by 1:30pm, during this time we caught about 100 bass between the four of us. I caug...

You had the same thought I did. This is what I found http://talkflyfishing.com/index.php?showtopic=16676Offlander wrote:How do I make or buy A Myakka Minnow ?
Love the pics and the reports. I haven't use a flyrod in a while, I think I'll have to break it out.

Re: Hurrah Creek/Lake w/pics
Hurrah Lake has public access, right off Thatcher road. You launch at the side of the bridge. It used to be open 24/7 but is now part of the Alafia River State Park. There is a gate that is opened at 8am and closed at sunset. I didn't see anything asking for a fee, but to go to any other part of th...

Hurrah Creek/Lake w/pics
Hit up Hurrah Creek in Lithia this morning for a little bass fishing before class. Water was a little cool but decided to throw a buzzbait to see what would happen. Had one follow but never caught up to it. Paddled on to the lake (wide spot in the river) and started throwing a zoom finesse worm. Thi...

Re: Hillsborough River 9/27
Where is Trout Creek? Just off the Fletcher/Morris Bridge Road exit on 75. Go east on Morris Bridge Road and it's about a 1/2 mile on the left. It's a nice remote part of the river. No houses like there are further down the river. There's a two dollar parking fee. All you do is put the money in an ...
