Re: Playing the Drum

I thought this was a fishing video but I had to turn it off once I heard "hold on Bill, I am going to jerk you".

Nice fish though.

1-29 Too close for missiles...

...so I had to switch to guns! First time posting a report here. I fished this morning without one bite. Later I paddled over a couple small reds so I jumped out of the kayak and started wading. It was like someone rang the dinner bell because it was nonstop action up until I had to paddle back so I...

That area is just fishy in general. If you head south you can work towards Sebastian Inlet, which is always good.

At least you understand and possibly have learned a lesson. I thought it could have been a flame war when I was typing it and it could have gone the other way. I only responded because I take gun rights and issues to heart. I used to teach gun safety in various hunting classes, gun shows, etc. and I...

That is completely irresponsible gun ownership right there. Stories like this just helps gun activists build a case to why criminals and law abiding citizens don't need to own guns. Sorry to hear your truck got broken into, I know you can't control that, but you can control what they take. Let's hop...

Re: Ok, new to Indian River......need help.

I'm new to fishing in the Indian River (Vero Beach area) and need a few helpful hints. Fishing from a Kayak, both fly rod and spinner. 1. What are the general areas to fish? Along the mangroves and how close? Under docks? Sea Walls? Grass flats, middle or edge? What places are best for which fish? ...

Need a new flyline

I have been able to get by on hand-me-down lines for my 6wt and 8wt rods for a very long time. A week ago I had 30 yards snap off my 8wt on a big red. My friend had been around docks so I am sure that was the reason it was weak. I really want something that doesn't have much memory, that would be my...

Nice fish Terry.

It is so much easier when you scale back on the stuff you bring isn't it? And the results are the same when it comes to catching fish!

I thought you weren't supposed to use nav lights on a non powered vessel under 7 meters? It's not that you're "not supposed to...", it is not necessary. For kayaks, all that is legally required is a flashlight that is accessible in time to avoid collision. My theory is this: some boats ha...

How do you get to the dry storage if it's facing the stern? :? Nice looking boat otherwise. I don't. I really don't need dry storage on this kayak. I have a dry bag handy in case of rain for my wallet and camera. I had a Redfish 14 before this and never used the dry storage either, everything was i...

I own a Magic 14.5 It is a great all around kayak. Ummsparky gave a good review. The hull slap isn't as bad if you move your seat alittle more forward. The speed is about the same as my Redfish/Marquesa 14. Wind might affect it a smidge more but not really noticeable. Seating is first class, you can...
