Re: Opportunity - Eagles in Polk County

Nope, the eagles are on the cell tower, about 200' away from the trees.

Opportunity - Eagles in Polk County

For all you shutterbugs, right now there are a TON of bald eagles roosting on a tower at the Sherrif's office in Winter Haven. Actually is off 540, just east of Circle B Bar and the county landfill. We went last night and counted 24 that came in to roost. Some of the other people there had counted o...

Re: Bringing along the fly rod!

You can also use the cheap plastic 3 rod holders and zip tie it to your crate. A word of warning though, there is only about 2" of the fighting butt in the holder, and the least bit of leverage will break the butt. Been there, done that one.

Dave, Rik's secret weapon has to be Barnacle. Maybe you need to tie up a couple of "Barnacle Hair" Baitfish Flies. :D

Wheedon Report 7/3

Headed out this morning for some much needed relaxing and fishing with She Who Must Be Obeyed. We launched at the kayak rental area at Wheedon about 7:15. Light breeze, smooth water, and pelicans pounding the baitfish. All of our fish came from along the mangrove lines. Artis didn't cut it, the fish...

Re: Transporting my kayak

Barry, my 12' kayaks on a jet ski trailer are less than 16' in overall length. They fit in the garage fine, and I have a workbench across from the door that is 3' wide. You shouldnt have any problems.

I agree with Gil. Either cut-off or to imitate the nose on a ballyhoo.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Bassboy, you should be able to drill around the rebar. If you can see the horizontal and vertical mortar joints in the block, try to place the anchors in the center of the block. You can also use a Tapcon type fastener, it looks like a blue screw. With these, you only need an inch or so into the blo...

Re: Kayak Safety Light

I installed a regular trailer light on the end of the bed extender and wired it to a standard trailer plug. I also tie a red bandana to the front carry handle of the kayak since I load the boat stern first into the truck.
For extra visibility I put DOT reflective stickers on the bed extender.

They work great. I carry 2 12 foot kayaks on mine. No need to extend the tongue. I left the 2x4 bunks on mine and attached unistrut across them. Add pads and you are all set.

Re: 2010 - 2011 PFTS - a recap and ??? about the next series

My $.02, adjusted for inflation. 1. Have at least one event on a Sunday for those that either work every Sat. or whose schedules are more fluid. 2. How about an afternoon to evening tournament early in the season? I was only able to make it to two events this year, and enjoyed them both. The locatio...
