It's my understanding that a lot of places in FL require a retention pond be built in housing areas based on the size of the land used. I'd look for one of these or creeks created for water runoff. They sell crayfish traps at a number of outdoor shops. If you can't find a trap specifically for crayf...

I'm presently using weed-eater line for my rudder control. Haven't had any issues thus far & it's pretty inexpensive.

I caught between 25-30 trout. Nothing to brag about (biggest one was 18") but they kept me busy. A bit chilly but all in all a good day on the water. Caught 6 or 7 on my new Revo SX.

I wouldn't consider a 12 foot boat for "touring". I beieve you'll find it rather slow. Particularly if you're paddling with persons in longer kayaks. Better to spend a bit more money on something you'll enjoy than skimp a bit & have a permanent plastic fixture in your garage.

http://paddle-fishing-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=30892 We used to target them more often. One thing I have learned is that unless you plan on harvesting (bad mojo) use heavy mono leader and circle hooks instead of typical wire J hook rigs. It makes realease faster and safer. A quick swipe of the kni...

Congratulations on the new Kayak. I think of the kayaks I've seen by Hobie that's probably my favorite. I really liked the front hatch. Just wish they made a 15 or 16 foot model.
Good luck !

At $300 it would have to be more than a step above. Perhaps if I were Bill Gates..........

Abu Garcia Revo Reels

I'm considering one of these in the high speed 7.1-1 configuration. The reviews on Cabelas & Bass Pro look promising. Anyone have any first hand experience?

Cool pics. I don't want to take away from a guy trying to make an honest dollar but those netters leave the bridges a damn mess. It sure would be nice if they cleaned up after themselves. I get them at the bridge at the end of my canal, I have had numerous talks with the guys that if they just clea...

I keep Redfish within the slot 15-23 in. here in SC. Nothing beats truly fresh fish for dinner. Flounder, if they're legal they're in the skillet. That's just a fish God intended us to eat.

As are Sand Tigers, but I butchered & ate one. Accidentally, didn't realize what kind of shark it was until I put a .45 slug in it's cranial. OOPs.

When my kids were , well kids. We used to eat alot of whatever I caught. I did a lot of shark fishing. Someone once told me that shark over 4 ft. in length was tough & strong tasting. Well I put that tale to bed in that I've butchered 8' + shark & they were just as good. We'd deep fry the sh...
