Re: For those of you that use baitcasters.

I haven't bought a reel yet. I've been checking some things out online and considering all of the good info I'm getting from all of you. Has anyone used the Daiwa TD Zillion or the Quantum Energy?

Fishing guides?

I'm planning on taking my 2 boys (both under 10 y/o) out with a guide over the summer to do some fishing. I'm looking for a guide that is more kid friendly and can put them onto a lot of action. Of course I'd like to catch that fish of a lifetime too though :D . Can anyone suggest a good guide? Look...

For those of you that use baitcasters.

I'm headed out to buy a new baitcaster this weekend and wanted to get some opinions from those of you who use them. All my bass reels are baitcasters spooled with mono. I'm looking to buy one mainly for saltwater use, but to use in the freshwater as well. So what do you use and why? Which are the be...

Been gone for a while so allow me to reintroduce myself.

I haven't been fishing on my kayak or posted anything on this forum since 2006. I was pretty active fishing prior to that, but the birth of my second son and coaching my olders son's sports teams zapped all my time. I've been itching to get back at it and will now have some opportunities. So, I say ...

I try to avoid drilling any extra holes in my yaks. I attached mine directly to my milk crate. It makes it sit about a foot higher mounted this way, and easily removed. No needless holes in my yak, and no sealant necessary.

Don't get too discouraged Dayfisher. We've all had those skunk days. Shoot, some of us have gone on skunk streaks (not me of course  ). For me, sometimes catching fish is the icing on the cake. I love to get on the water just to clear my head and recharge. I do challenge myself every trip to b...

I have some I bought a while back. I got it not so much for an attractant, but for masking the scent from my hands. After applying sunblock and all kinds of other crap we touch and transfer to our lures, I think this helps mask the unappealing scent to Mr Fish. I haven't noticed a difference in my c...

First off, if you've been married for more than an hour or so, this won't be the first time you pissed off the wife. I'm sure she will be just as pleased with a fat T-bone or a nice fish fillet from you local butcher. Let the fish go . There's that slim glimmer of hope you can recatch it during game...

The handle on the Stradic has been grinding, but that is it so far. After a trip I rinse them real good with fresh water on the outside, as well as taking the spools off and giving the inside a good rinse too. I think I'm gonna start breaking them down every month or so to prolong their use. Those ...

I have 1 Stradic 2000, and 2 Spheros (3000 and 4000). I take good care of them all and don't have any problems with them yet. The handle on the Stradic has been grinding, but that is it so far. After a trip I rinse them real good with fresh water on the outside, as well as taking the spools off and ...

I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread. I am getting another rod/reel combo this weekend and planned on buying another of what I already have (2500 Stradic on a 7' Falcon). I'm now contemplating weather I should buy another stradic after all I have heard about their life span (had mine for a couple mo...
