If I were in an area where I felt that open carry was necessary I would rethink where I am fishing. Those are also areas that would be the last place I'd want to leave my truck while I'm gone fishing for 5 hours. You said in your post you turned North ( towards AB ) and turned left. That would have you going back into the bay. Did you mean South instead of North? just wondering.

Depends on your spool. I just bought a Penn Battle & it has a spool designed for braid & it is working well, no need for mono backing. If your spool is older it is best to use mono backing. It takes a lot of braid to fill it $$$$. So far I've found a length of braid 10% longer than my longe...
