Everyone has been saying that the Harbor has been going off since Sunday. Yesterday was especially good. My charter capt. buddy caught a ton of reds, lots of big snook, two cobia, and a legal grouper out on the grass flat below Ponce Park. I'll talk to him today and see if it's been as good today to...

I can tell you how it will go. Nothing will happen. The waders, once full, have little effect on your bouyancy. It's simple science. You don't need to jump in a pool to prove it. Take the waders and just throw them in the pool. Watch what they do. That is the EXACT effect they have on you. If you th...

We're going out tomorrow Trootin. We haven't decided what we're doing, the weather probably will for us. We're either going to head offshore for AJs and grouper or stick the kayaks in the boat and head to Turtle Bay.

Are they actually stocking them? When I went to get mine, all the Harbor Freights from Ft. Myers to St. Pete all said that they don't stock them that it's an internet item only.

I would call first just in case?

Nice red.

Yep, those were probably bonnetheads. They are prevelant this time of year on the flats. They usually aren't agressive but will get close enough to pucker you up good and tight. Usually a bump on the nose with a rod butt will send them scurrying.

I wasn't impressed with them. They seemed really slow and really loud. Obnoxiously loud.

We didn't do too much better. There were a ton of reds in that little bay, but we couldn't make them eat. I caught a small jack and Dave caught another small red off one of the docks in that bay. That is definately a good low water place to fish. It was the first time I've been there and now that I ...

I'm game for Sunday. Let me know where you want to go and we'll go. Hope you don't have an aversion to live bait. Here's the info on Darst: http://charlottecountyfl.com/parks/ParkPages/darstpark.html We can fish up there if you'd like or we can try the flats below Ponce Park. I wouldn't recommend fi...

It was empty this past weekend. There was NO water out there with Sunday's tide.

I've always wanted to put it at Acline Road and go down Alligator Creek but it's a heck of paddle to get to the harbor though. I've always wanted to fish between Alligator and Pirate Harbor.

If you're staying in Harbor Heights, Darst park is almost directly across the harbor from you. Flounder are always tough down here, but that may be because nobody really fishes for them. We catch mostly by accident. If you're up for a paddle, another option is to launch at Ponce Park, and paddle abo...

This time of year the Matlacha/Pine Island area has a ton of redfish. They're stacking up and getting ready to head offshore. And I'm talking big bull reds in schools of 200+ fish. Depending on the tide you can launch at Ponce Park and fish PGI, but you should be fishing inside the canals. Fishing t...

You don't eat them that size. You don't bring them into your boat and take pictures of them when they're that size.

You put them in your aquarium.

We were on a 23' Shearwater.
