SRQ report part 1
Had a fellow co-worker and friend out on Sat afternoon fishing in 20mph winds. I had a new bait to try called the Bomber Who Dat Rattling spoon. On Brian's second cast he he hooked up with with a nice 26 3/4 Redfish. Brian caught his personal best and released a few more Reds and Trout before the su...

Richard & Rocky's night trip.
Met with Richard and Rocky just before sunset for a night kayak fishing adventure. After a short paddle to our first destination we found everything was working against us. 4 lights out of 7 were not on, and getting set up on the lights that were on was just about impossible with the 20 mph wind. We...

Re: Tarpon?
Tarpon fishing solo isn't the best idea, but that's your choice. I really dont know how you would revive the fish by yourself. I guess if you were lucky enough to be close to the beach you could get out and walk it up and down in the surf, but that usually is not the case.Or if you have a peddle kay...

Re: Rory's Kayak Tarpon
The tarpon was revived by a fiends flats boat and released in good health.DaveR wrote:Skill would have landed that fish in a third the time. Luck is that it swam off alive.
And it begins! Suprised it took this long.

Re: Rory's Kayak Tarpon
Congratulations. Job well done. Then next to last picture is amazing. Did he get any shots or video with the PlaySport mounted on the front of his kayak? Video to follow. His battery died and he lost most of the footage but I took some with mine. We are putting together what we have from both camer...

Rory's Kayak Tarpon
Rory O'Connor of Bellingham Washington fished with me today. Rory's goal was to catch his first Tarpon. The conditions were horrible. Like a giant washing machine out there today but that didnt stop us. We pressed on. Around 8 am Rory makes his first cast to a rolling fish. Still dont know how he ev...

Father's Day Fishing
Got off duty from the FD and picked up my boy Jacob and headed out for a couple hrs of Bass fishing. Met up with Rusty and his daughter around 8:30am. We caught some decent fish and most important,we had a great time with our kids. http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss49/shallowpocketsfishing/father...

Shallow pockets, Steve M Gibson, takes his own kid out quite often. Do a search and you'll find some pics with a young toothy grin. Plus, he's a member here. Thanks Rik. Kayaking with young chidren can be alot of fun. I wouldn't suggest a kayak charter any longer than 4 hrs in the summer. I like to...
