Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120

The Tarpon 120 has quickly become one the most popular fishing kayaks on the west coast of Florida.

The versatility and layout of the boat have made it an appealing alternative to some of the larger 'yaks like the Tarpon 160. DaveR's version of the boat shows you what you can do to make the T-120 into a lean mean fishing machine.

In the picture above you can see the tankwell complete with the obligatory milkcrate. Another Item you can see in this shot is a new addition to the flats anglers in the TampaBay area.  Many paddlers are starting to carry sawed off golf clubs.  This makes an effective stake that can be run through on of the scuppers.

A close up of the tankwell area.  Notice that Dave chose to use the more typical Scotty Rod Mounts instead of the flush mounts preferred by many. You can also see a day hatch that is behind the seat. These little beauties are great for keeping keys and other small items. Look at the size of the Tankwell!

The front of the T-120 is planned out very well.  Plenty of space on for a Scotty Mount Rod Holder.  Dave has also added some additional shock cord for keeping items above deck.
