American Eagle Canoe

ameaglefull.jpg

The 15-foot American Eagle Canoe is one of the workhorses for paddle fishing in the Tampa Bay Area.  It is a stable boat that will hold a lot of fishing equipment.  It is an excellent boat for the first
time paddler.  This is how Hoosier (Anthony Cordell) set his AE up.

I think it is an excellent concept.  He has kept it very clean and simple. Scotty rodholders built so they clear the gunwales with 3/4". Rope cleats  For the anchor line. Nothing fancy here, but it does the job.

Four pairs mounted fore and aft for transporting rods without them banging around the canoe and getting in the way. A cushy seat is attached to a swivel base and clamp-on jonboat seat holder so there are no holes drilled into the boat
. I carry two paddles with me. A 250cm kayak paddle which is my primary means of propulsion, and a bent shaft canoe paddle for when I'm feeling more of a purist.
